I get a daily email called Benedict Everyday, and it’s both a wonderful dose of our papa and a lovely gift of wisdom in my inbox. Today’s quote was too good not to share (emphasis mine):
Mary stands before us as a sign of comfort encouragement and hope. She turns to us saying, ‘Commit yourself to God; then you will see that it is precisely by doing so that your life will become broad and light, not boring, but filled with infinite surprises, for God’s infinite goodness is never depleted!’
Pope Benedict XVI, from his homily on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2005
Both our Pope and Mary showing us the way to happiness: God. Amazing. I used to think that Catholics worshiped Mary. Now I think that she is a very wise woman…one I should probably listen to more often. Same for the Pope: a very wise Papa. Thanks.
love that!
‘Commit yourself to God; then you will see that it is precisely by doing so that your life will become broad and light, not boring, but filled with infinite surprises, for God’s infinite goodness is never depleted!’
I need to paste this one on my forehead. Or eyelids. Somewhere! I just don’t want to forget it, which is the danger when I am so busy running around like that proverbial chicken.
Thank you so much for posting this one, Sarah. I needed to hear it, especially after this challenging week.
God bless you!
