Today, Padre said something that struck me, and I want to share it here as a way of remembering it whenever I’m tempted to gripe about the hard work of this vocation of mine.
When you are married, you have twice the blessings, because you have your spouse to share them with and double them. You also have half the woes, because you have your spouse to help you carry them.

I have to recommend a book to you. (If I did already, just ignore me).
It’s “God Alone Suffices” by Swalomier Biela.
Here’s an excerpt:
“The process of losing marital illusions is connected to suffering, but in our journey to sanctity, it is a very precious gift. the less that the spouses can rely on each other, the greater the chance that they will start to desire Christ, and in Him they will begin to discovered the only true support.”
