Their story starts to unravel when Annie and Mark join her eccentric soon-to-be boss (Ronny Cox) for a weekend at his ranch in New Mexico. Comical misunderstandings mark the event as Annie struggles to keep up the ruse, finding herself emotionally invested and conflicted by her own conscience. And then, congratulations are in order for my dear writing pal Karina Fabian, whose lovely book Why God Matters (co-authored with her father, Deacon Steve Lumbert), won a pretty big prize, the 2011 Christian Small Publisher Book of the Year Award in the Nonfiction/Christian Living category.

I read Why God Matters a while back and enjoyed it greatly. If you haven’t yet read it, consider getting a copy, giving a copy, and at least reading it. You’ll find it uplifting and I’ll bet you’ll walk away a better person having read it.
