It’s the beginning of March, and my hopes for spring and the delightful sunshine and warmer weather have been soaring for at least 48 hours. And then, this morning, vegging at my laptop, I threw open the curtains triumphantly to enjoy the view of the barnyard, and what met my wondering eyes?
SNOW.
Big fat white flakes, drifting down in not-so-lazy formation, turning my barnyard white, coating the roof of the barn, and dashing my hopes for a day of (possibly soggy) errands.
Nope, I’m staying right here, cozied up with a cup of tea and my laptop (and that toddler who’s all over the house), until Hubby gets home from work and fills the fire some more.
Susan, I’d send you the snow. It was pretty in December, it was expected in January, and it was tiring in February. But now, on the threshold of spring, it’s nothing short of unwelcome!
Snow, snow, go away…AND BRING ON THE CROCUSES AND DAFFODILS!
I must say the snow would be nice, but after 81 degrees on Wednesday (that was still February by the way) and an expected 72 today, I have a hard time missing the snow.
I totally know the feeling of “it’s March, Spring is SUPPOSED to be here by now!”
Rest assured there is hope…surely you’ve heard of “In like a lion, out like a lamb” in regards to the month of March!
I’m with you Sarah. When we lived in Michigan’s UP I used to say that I loved the guaranteed white Christmas. It was the white Thanksgiving and white Easter that was hard to take.
I’d take the snow if I thought it’d mean a cooler summer. I’m not a wuss but I am getting a little nervous about this year…
With highs in the 70s and 80s in FEBRUARY, I’m a little concerned that our normal 5-6 day 110+ weather is going to turn into 11-12 day 110+ weather. *slaps forehead* Not fun…
