You’ve probably gathered that we’re horse people. Or, more accurately, that we’re horse-crazy people.

This week, in my column on Our Lady of Consolation, I reflect on what Padre calls “Mary of the ponderosa,” how I find myself inspired by Mary when we’re at the horse farm.

Pictured here is Bailey, an equine friend we made last year. After we ride, we brush them. No, we don’t have to. But Wrangler Matt lets us, and Daddy insists that the fun comes with work. I suspect there is as much joy for Daddy in the brushing as there is work for the rider…
