“Be patient with everyone, but above all with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them – every day begin the task anew.”
St. Francis de Sales

If you’re like me, it’s easier to remind yourself to be patient with others – your children, your spouse, your colleagues, the slooooooow person in front of you at the store when you’re really in a hurry – than it is to remember to be patient with yourself. I’ve heard this before. I’ve had friends tell me, in moments I can only call Holy Spirit inspired, that I need to forgive myself (which, in the way they’re saying it, is very similar – if not the same – as being patient with myself). But when I read this the other day, it reached out from my inbox and grabbed me. It was a voice that I needed to hear.
