Outside my window
The sky is turning gray and I know there’s a chill in the air (I had to run out earlier to get something out of the truck). The corn is still standing in the field just beyond my car, but it won’t be much longer…harvest is under way.

In my thoughts
Fall memories, things apple, the urge to dig in my gardens (a task left too long, I fear), but mostly excitement about an upcoming visit and the news that I will be an aunt!
~~~
In thanksgiving
For babies and pregnancy and being an aunt (not just the girlfriend of an uncle)
~~~
Kitchen meanderings
I need to get in a rhythm this week. I meant to print out a weekly menu (which is a great idea), but I haven’t. I meant to get things together out of Saving Dinner, but I didn’t. So…the kitchen remains a place of theory for me (though we have to eat…and we will…)
~~~
On my body
Jammies and an old fleece robe and my favorite pair of not-a-chance-of-cold-feet slippers
~~~
Using my creative powers
Not so much this morning. But my notebook has a gleam to it this morning, and I think we may spend some quality time together later on today. 🙂
~~~
Going places
To work, to give blood (first time since college – I wonder if they’ll take my blood?), to the store, and back home. It’s a standard Monday, and I’m so glad.
~~~
Nose inserted
Just started Odd Hours, by Dean Koontz, on Saturday. I’ve been balancing it by buzzing through Home Education, by Charlotte Mason (which I know a bunch of people has said is really good, but I wondered and wasn’t sure…but they were right!).
~~~
Hopes and dreams
If this week goes like last week did, then I can’t ask for much more!
~~~
In my ears
The house is quiet, so I can hear the buzzing of the lights and something else. Small feet, now, coming from the other room.
~~~
Around the house
We’re still in wake-up mode, and we’re not going to get geared up for preschool until I have had my shower. (And that’s that!)
~~~
A favorite thing
Still-warm brownies, made on a Sunday when the sun is shining and the family has been inside together all morning.
~~~
For the rest of the week
Preschool for Babs (and boy is she loving it!), getting good with those legs for the soon-to-be-toddler, keep on catching up at work (I’m not sure what I’m catching up from, mind you) and laundry (why is putting it away the biggest hurdle right now? and does it matter?) and planning and reading for me
Worth a thousand words
