Two simple words. Why are they so hard to say? Why is gratitude something we aren’t naturally inclined to express? I ask God all the time for his help, for his support, for his guidance and wisdom. I offer up my day for various things, try to plug along through the challenging times and keep God in mind. But saying thank you…there’s always room for improvement on that.
Thanks, God, for the rain. We need it.

Thanks, God, for clothes and cars and electricity and food and beds and blankets and all the little things that aren’t so little after you’ve visited the soup kitchen.
Thanks, God, for the old farmhouse, for the hyper dog, for the excesses we complain about but should thank you for instead.
Thanks, God, for the community of women who keep me sane.
