Natalie Goldberg weaves quite a bit of wisdom throughout her book, Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within, and it was as entertaining a read as it was helpful. I especially appreciated the short chapters, with pointers that were colorful and easily digested (and therefore remembered).

I don’t know if it’s the sort of book you’d enjoy if you don’t dabble in writing, but you don’t have to be a “pro” (whatever that means) to get a lot of good out of this book.

Though I borrowed it initially, I’ll be adding it to my home library one of these days, because I’m sure reading it the second time – and the third, and the fourth, and the fifth, and on – will be as helpful – and fun – as the first.
