…there’s only one place to be, and that’s the
2015 Columbus Catholic Women’s Conference!
The theme this year is “At the Foot of the Cross,” which is dear to me in many, many, MANY ways. (Note to self: DO NOT WEAR MASCARA.)
This painting was commissioned especially for the conference, and I may have to order a print of it for my home. It is perhaps where I meet Mary the most, at the foot of the cross, where I find her to be truly my mother and my companion, and where she teaches me that the tears that so often blindside me are a gift, not a burden.
I am once again live-tweeting, and I may or may not already be having some squee anticipation because this line-up has some of my Very Favorite People Evaahhhhh:
- Colleen Carroll Campbell (We’re reading her book RIGHT NOW at CatholicMom.com!)
- Dr. Edward Sri (Can you say “Wrote one of my verrrrry favorite Mary books and I may attack him to hug him”?)
- Emily Wilson (who I have not heard of before, but judging from her website, I am going to LOVVVVE her!)
But wait, there’s more. You not only get great speakers and a lunch and Awesome Catholic Vendors (say it with me: “I will not spend all my money at On This Day Designs, I will not buy any books, I will not avoid all other interactions in favor of drooling over the Cool Stuff…”), but you ALSO get Mass AND Adoration.
No joke. I mean, why WOULDN’T you go?
Register online or at the door.
And in case you just can’t make it…they’ll be airing it live on St. Gabriel Radio and you’ll be able to purchase the audio, too.
And make sure you LET ME KNOW if you will be there. We’ll meet up over by the On This Day table, where I will be in tears over the beauty and hilarity of the sisters who own it. (Last year, I may or may not have tried on EVERYTHING AT THEIR BOOTH. And this year, I’m 100 weeks pregnant. I think there’s a large chance I am going to need at least one new pair of earrings…)
